Three Shifts Towards Financial Freedom

Jul 17, 2025

Today I want to talk to you about the three small, powerful shifts that move you closer to real, lasting financial freedom.
No gimmicks. No perfection. Just progress.

Because here's the truth:
There are things we all need to fix when it comes to money.
And that whole idea of doing it right all the time? Toss it. It’s exhausting. It’s also a lie.

✨ 1. HEAL: Bust the Money Myths & Break the Rules

You’ve got money stories. So do I. So does everyone. That voice in your head that says “I’m just bad with money”? That’s not your truth  it’s your conditioning.

We’ve been told things like:

  • “Rich people are greedy”

  • “Women aren’t good with money”

  • “There’s never enough”

You know what that is?
That’s the patriarchy doing its greatest hits album.
And I am done with it.

Let me tell you about my client Anna. She's a high-income earner, runs her own business, but had this deep fear that money would disappear. Her mum grew up post-war, constantly worried about not having enough. That fear got passed down just like eye colour or a casserole dish.

Anna healed her story by facing it head-on. She didn’t ignore it. She rewrote it. And that’s your job too.

💥 Bust the myths.
💥 Journal them out.
💥 Say them out loud and then call B.S.

You cannot heal what you won’t acknowledge so let’s stop pretending we’re broken and start recognising we’ve been conditioned.

And remember:
Money is not a static number in a bank account. It is a flow. It will come and go and come again.

💸 2. LEARN: Know What’s Coming In, What’s Going Out, and What’s Left

This is where we get practical. Because healing is fabulous, but bills still exist.

So let’s talk money systems.
I see it all the time: women earning great money, but it's chaos behind the scenes. Money just... vanishes.

The fix? Simple structure.
I teach backwards budgeting. Start with the life you want, and build the money plan around that.

Here’s what I mean:

  1. Revenue – Costs = Profit (yep, that old business rule applies at home too)

  2. Set up your fortress account for bills

  3. Add a spending account for joy and living

  4. Keep a cash cushion for sneaky expenses like tyres, school fees, or the fridge dying at the worst time

One of my clients, Sarah, called me nearly in tears after her car registration and insurance landed in the same week. She said, “I was doing so well, and now I feel like I’m back to zero.”
But she wasn’t.
She just didn’t have her fortress account yet.
Two weeks later, we’d set it up, reworked her bills, and boom: no more surprises!

🚫 No more death-by-a-thousand-cuts spending.
🚫 No more Uber Eats guilt.
✅ Just systems that support your real life.

🔥 3. TRANSFORM: Use What’s Left to Level Up

This is where the freedom happens.

Use what’s left, even if it’s just $50, to transform your money story.

💪 Put a little extra toward debt
💪 Put $10 a week into super
💪 Start your investment account with spare change
💪 Build your emergency fund (aka your f**k you fund)

Let’s be real you don’t need to be debt-free to feel free.
You need options. Choice. Peace of mind.

And that comes from tiny, consistent moves.
It comes from doing some things better, not everything perfectly.

I had a client  Liz, in her 60s who called her emergency fund “the escape hatch.” She used it to leave a toxic job, and then later, to help her daughter get out of a bad relationship. She said, “It gave me power I didn’t even realise I had.” That’s what I want for you.

💥 Final Thoughts: Faith It ’Til You Make It

Forget faking it.
Faith it.
Faith that your money life is changing.
Faith that you're doing enough.
Faith that the small steps you take today will build the freedom you crave.

Because here’s the secret:
Financial freedom isn’t about never making a mistake. It’s about knowing you can recover when you do.

Thanks for being here. Thanks for doing this work. You are not behind you're just getting started.
